Yes the picture is blurry. I know, this is not the professional photography skill you came here for. But, the point is, I took this photo, by firelight, with my iPhone, after eating a lovely dinner cooked by a group of Dutch/Australian/Canadian/British/Portugese/lovely people. So I'm not (only) here fighting bird-eating spiders (these are real and I walk by a nest of them every day on the way to work, but am too afraid to stop long enough to take a picture, maybe tomorrow), I am also living a very easy and fun life. 

The house owner said that the bone over the fireplace was a rhino femur. But then he made a comment that "American's don't get sarcasm." So, I'm assuming it's a dinosaur bone??

I apologize to everyone I laughed at when they asked if I would meet Madonna when I came here because she is building a pediatric surgery literally NEXT DOOR to my clinic. She's coming to the grand opening in like a month. I'm going to ask her to follow Nicki Minaj's lead and pay off my college loans. 

This is my room, which I have all to myself because I am very important. There is also a very tiny table to the left of the camera.  Where is the bathroom? Where isn't the bathroom?! (Watch Broad City) But really the bathroom is down the hall. It's a semi outdoor kind of situation in which I think I will get some serious exposure therapy to help me get over my fear of moths. (Yes I fear moths and there are always tons of them and some of them are as big as my phone)

Welcome to Blantyre! This is the view from the little patio at my lodge. It's pretty ok. This is also the only place where there is wifi so imagine me sitting here every time I post online. 

Finally on my way to Malawi! Failed at packing my whole life into a 50 pound bag so I upgraded to first class for my 30 minute flight to DC. $56 dollars and you get to bring all your gold filled bags! Very fancy now, don't speak to me if you fly coach.
